The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and Saint Louis University–Sacred Heart Medical Center (SLU-SHMC) have formalized their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), strengthening their shared commitment to advancing accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare.

PhilHealth Acting President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Beverly Lorraine C. Ho and SLU-SHMC President Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD, graced the signing ceremony, marking an important step toward deeper collaboration between the national health insurer and the private healthcare sector.

As part of the partnership’s commitment to expanding access to quality care, SLU-SHMC will allocate at least ten percent (10%) of its total bed capacity, equivalent to 18 beds, for ward accommodations. These designated beds will provide eligible PhilHealth members with covered services without co-payments, helping reduce financial barriers to necessary medical care.

Following the signing ceremony, Dr. Ho and the PhilHealth delegation conducted a site visit at Saint Louis University, providing an opportunity to further engage with the institution and gain insights into its healthcare facilities, services, and initiatives. The visit also underscored the importance of continued collaboration in identifying opportunities to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve access to quality services for PhilHealth members.

Through this partnership, PhilHealth and SLU-SHMC reaffirm their shared vision of a more responsive, equitable, and accessible healthcare system. The collaboration highlights the growing role of public-private partnerships in strengthening the country’s national health insurance program, improving healthcare delivery, and ensuring that more Filipinos have access to quality and affordable healthcare.
