PRO CALABARZON destroys illegal firecrackers

Camp BGen Vicente P Lim Calamba City – PRO CALABARZON, under the
leadership of BGen
Paul Kenneth Lucas,
Regional Director,
spearheaded the destruction of 23,466
prohibited firecrackers with an estimated
value of P787,252.00
at 9:00 AM of January 3, 2024, at this
camp.
According to reports covering the period from December
16, 2023, to January
2, 2024, PRO CALABARZON executed a
relentless campaign
against the illegal
use, possession, and
sale of firecrackers.

A total of 7,757
personnel were strategically deployed
throughout the region, including 2,332
PNP personnel, 74
from augmented
units, and an additional 2,051 from advocacy groups.
The proactive
measures encompassed meticulous
inspections at 607
places of convergence, covering 188
markets, 88 malls,
44 parks, 91 terminals/ports, and 205
churches. This extensive effort resulted in the arrest of
1individual involved
in the illegal discharge of firearms
and the apprehension of 6 individuals
engaged in the illegal
possession, use, and
sale of firecrackers.
F u r t h e r m o r e ,
there were reports of
241 injuries attributed to firecrackers,
with 240 discharged
and 1 individual under medical treatment, and no fatalities were reported.
Lucas reassures
the public that PRO
