The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) actively participate in the 4th Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on November 9, 2023. BFP officers and personnel at the National Headquarters, together in all regional, provincial, district and city/municipal stations nationwide perform the “duck, cover and hold” basic emergency principle after the nationwide alarm commencing the drill was raised. NSED is an annual event aimed at assessing the readiness of the country’s local disaster risk reduction and management councils and response teams in responding to a major earthquake. (Benjie J.
