Bacoor City Hall’s main lobby was filled with hope and gratitude on September 23, 2024, as 42 students from Aniban Central School received brand new eyeglasses. The event, organized by the City Government of Bacoor led by Mayor Strike B. Revilla, was a collaborative effort with the Hope In Me club, the Imus Dambalasik Lions Club, and the 7 Lakes San Pablo City Lions Club.
The initiative was spearheaded by Doc Ma Cristina Alberto, President and Founder of the Hope In Me club. The Imus Dambalasik Lions Club, under Charter President Mr. Emoy Fransisco, provided food for the participants. The eyeglasses themselves were generously donated by the 7 Lakes San Pablo City Lions Club, headed by Region Chair Mr. Dandino Ambray.
The distribution was requested by Lion Ms. Cheryl Torreno and Lion Ms. Charmlet Torreno, highlighting the Lions Club’s dedication to community service. Mayor Strike B. Revilla, a strong advocate for the well-being of his constituents, attended the event, emphasizing the importance of good vision for children’s education and overall development.
The event was a testament to the power of community partnerships. By joining forces, these organizations were able to provide a valuable service to students in need, ensuring they have the tools to succeed in their education and future endeavors. The students, visibly grateful for their new eyeglasses, expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to see clearly and learn better. This heartwarming event serves as a reminder that even small acts of kindness can have a significant impact on the lives of others.
