Today August 11, 2024, the City Government of Bacoor, through Bacoor Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office (BDRRMO), the Philippine Red Cross, and the University of Perpetual Health Dalta, organized a successful Rescue Challenge to enhance the resilience of each barangay in Bacoor and boost community preparedness.
The event featured notable individuals such as Mayor Strike B. Revilla, Mr. Richard Quion – BDRRMO head, Ms. Loida Rivera from Philippine Red Cross Dasmarinas Branch, Mr. Gary Santos, Ms. Mary Jane Balicao of Philippine Red Cross Cavite Chapter, Ricky Boy Camilon – Reservist Coordinator UPHSD Molino-Campus, and various barangay chairpersons. This collaborative effort included staff from BDRRMO, Red Cross, and representatives from 27 barangays in Bacoor, along with barangay officials and staff.
The primary objective of the Rescue Challenge was to conduct comprehensive training sessions led by BDRRMO in partnership with the Red Cross. These sessions aimed to equip individuals with essential First Aid knowledge to provide urgent assistance during emergencies and calamities, ultimately strengthening the resilience of Bacoor’s barangays.
The event showcased various categories, including the Barangay Rescue Challenge where the champion received a prize of 30k. Awards were also presented for Best in Cheering, Best in Uniform, and Most Organized Team, with special recognitions for activities like Quiz Bee, Bungee, and Transfer Relay.
