The GIP orientation took place at the Ceremonial Hall of the Provincial Capitol in Trece Martires City on October 9, 2023. It was organized by the Office of the Provincial Public Employment Service Manager, led by Ms. Rizalie Pinpin-Enero.

To kick off the orientation, Ms. Dianne Digma, Community Facilitator from DOLE-Cavite Provincial Office, provided applicants with an in-depth understanding of the program’s overview and objectives. She ensured that all participants comprehended the crucial information outlined in the internship agreement forms.

Mojica delivered an inspirational message, acknowledging the significance of DOLE’s pioneering GIP project in the Provincial Government of Cavite. He emphasized the service-oriented nature of government work, with a commitment to prioritizing the welfare of constituents.

In addition to the GIP orientation, the interns received an informative session on PGC’s human resource policies. Ms. Maria Fe Satsatin, head of the Office of the Provincial Human Resource and Management Officer, covered the history of PGC, its vision, mission, and values statement, and highlighted salient features of Republic Act 6713, also known as the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

Mr. Jesus Barrera, Executive Assistant IV from the Office of the Provincial Governor, introduced the interns to the workings of PGC, aiming to deepen their appreciation for the organization and enhance their contributions to public service.

During the event, Mr. Jojo Enriquez, a part of Senator Imee Marcos’ staff, was also in attendance. He offered a heartfelt welcome to all the interns and relayed a message of support on behalf of the senator.

In her closing remarks, Ms. Enero congratulated the first batch of qualified interns, referring to them as the “cream of the crop.” She encouraged them to give their best as they took their initial steps into public service.

The Government Internship Program is an integral component of the Department of Labor and Employment’s KABATAAN 2000 program. It is designed to provide opportunities for young workers aged 18 to 30 to engage in meaningful work at both the national and local government levels, with a focus on serving the public.

Interns will undergo a minimum of three months to a maximum of six months of internship, during which they will receive a daily salary of P520.(CPIO)
