TESDA Cavite Provincial Office under the leadership of Provincial Director Rosalinda B. Talavera is set to hold the 2023 Provincial Skills Competition in collaboration with the Association of Cavite Training Institutions and Vocational Educators, Inc. (ACTIVE) and the Competency Assessors Association of Cavite, Inc. (CAACI) from November 30, 2023 to December 1, 2023, wherein the opening ceremony will be held at the Gymnasium of Sisters of Mary, Girlstown in Silang, Cavite.
The Provincial Skills Competition is a competition that serves as a venue to recognize the skills excellence of young industry-skilled workers and graduates of technical vocational schools and training centers. As stated in the TESDA Act of 1994, the conduct of skills competitions aims to promote quality skills development in the country with the end view of participating in international skills competitions.
Over 30 competitors will gather and compete in the eight (8) different skills areas. These areas are Bakery, Cooking, Mechatronics, Fashion Technology, Graphic Design, Welding Technology, Information Network Cabling and Mechanical Engineering CAD.
Other skill areas with skills demonstration are Restaurant Service, Hotel Reception, Hairdressing, Web Technologies, Electronics, Electrical, CNC Milling, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Automobile Technology and Renewable Energy.
The competition is also a great opportunity for vocational education and training students to see and experience the value of skills and in benchmarking for international standards. Winners of the 2023 PSC awaits cash prizes, medals and tokens and they will have a chance to represent the Province of Cavite in the upcoming 2023 Regional Skills Competition set in December 18-20, 2023 in Quezon Province.(MARGIE BAUTISTA)
