In recognizing the vital role that intellectual property plays in creativity, innovation, and businesses, the Provincial Government of Cavite (PGC), through Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood, and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCLEDO), in partnership with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPhil), organized the Intellectual Property Month celebration kick-off activity on April 11, 2023 in Trece Martires City, Cavite.
The activity formally started through a ceremonial signing of Memorandum of Agreement between Cavite Governor Jonvic C. Remulla, for PGC, and Dir. Ralph Jarvis Alindongan, for IPOPhil, at the Office of the Provincial Governor Conference, Provincial Capitol Building. This event was witnessed by Mr. Alvin S. Mojica, Provincial Administrator for Community Affairs, and Atty. Khervy B. Reyes, Officer-in-Charge of PCLEDO. The MoA will solidify the commitment of both parties in spreading the importance of respecting and protecting everyone’s intellectual property rights.
Additionally, as part of the celebration, the anticipated launching of Cavite Intellectual Property Nexus took place at Cavite Cooperative Development Center (CaCoDeC), The event was marked with a ribbon cutting ceremony, led by PA Mojica and Dir. Alindongan, and was attended by guests, including Fr. Arturo Joseph M. Balagat, Cavite Provincial Cooperative Development Council Chairperson, Ms. Niña Maranga, representative of DILG Cavite Dir. Lionel L. Dalope, and Ms. Analyn S. Varias and Ms. Kristine M. Diaz of DTI Cavite Provincial Office.
In their messages delivered during the short program, PA Alvin Mojica and Dir. Ralph Jarvis Alindongan underscored the significance of IP, stating that they are in solidarity for the enforcement of rights and protection to fight IP theft and uphold fair competition. Moreover, they conveyed their sincere gratitude to everyone that partook in and supported the kick-off activity.
