The Bureau of Fire protection in the observance of Fire Prevention Month, the Las Piñas City Fire Station under the leadership of FSUPT MELCHOR B ISIDRO, City Fire Marshal conducts recently its 10th Inter- Barangay Fire Olympics held at The Tent, Gatchalian Drive, Manuyo Uno of this city.

The Fire Olympics are one way of strengthening and rebuilding the skills of the barangay fire brigades to quickly respond to fire cases and other emergencies. It will also showcase their firefighting and rescuing skills.

Hon. Senator CYNTHIA A. VILLAR graced the momentous event together with the Commissioned Officers and Barangay Officials.

The Inter- Barangay Fire Olympics was participated by almost 20 barangays of Las Piñas City with 14 participants from each barangay for the competition and 20 residents attended a lecture/seminar about Fire safety.

The event includes activities such as Blitz Attack, Hose Laying and Replacement of Busted Hose, Flammable Liquid Fire Extinguishment, and Bucket Relay.

Barangay Talon Uno headed by Hon. Emiliano B Ramos, Brgy Chairman was the Over-All Champion of the Competition.

The BFP Las Piñas family is indeed very grateful to Mayor IMELDA T AGUILAR, Vice Mayor APRIL AGUILAR- NERY, and to all the Local Government Officials for their unwavering support to the Fire department.

This year’s celebration is anchored on the theme, ‘Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog, Di Ka Nag-iisa’.
